If I could only have two cooking tools, I’d want a rice cooker and a wok. With those two things, it’s possible to make a variety of healthful stir-fry dishes. When planning a stir-fry dinner, I save time by chopping up many of the vegetables ahead of time. I also check my refrigerator to make sure I have all of the right ingredients for stir fry. Although I prefer to cook with tofu, some of my of my family members prefer beef, shrimp, pork or chicken stir-fry dishes. I use olive oil in my wok, but many people claim it tastes better to use peanut oil, sesame oil or vegetable oil.

Beef with snow peas

To make a beef stir fry, I use ½ pound of beef round steak. I prefer the grass-fed beef, which I cut into thin strips. While sautéing the beef in 2 teaspoons of olive oil in the wok, I beat together 2 tablespoons of soy sauce, 1 tablespoon of liquid amino acids, ½ teaspoon of corn starch and 1 tablespoon of brown sugar. After cooking the beef, I add the liquid as well as a few handfuls of snow peas. For flavor, I may add in 1 tablespoon of minced ginger as well as 1 tablespoon of minced garlic.

Chicken stir fry

To make chicken stir fry, I follow a similar stir-fry recipe. Instead of cooking up beef strips, I cook chicken strips. Then instead of just using snow peas, I chop up red and green peppers into matchsticks. I chop up one onion and break off florets of broccoli. In addition to soy sauce mixture, I add in red pepper flakes.

Shrimp stir fry

For the shrimp stir-fry recipe, I use different ingredients. It does not usually take as long to cook shrimp as it does beef, chicken or pork. I first prepare the sauce by mixing together 2 tablespoons of soy sauce, 2 teaspoons of fish sauce, 1 tablespoon of water as well as 3 teaspoons of brown sugar. I chop up 2 cloves of garlic, 1 red onion, 1 red pepper, 1 jalapeno pepper and 1 green pepper. After cooking the vegetables lightly in peanut or olive oil, I add the shrimp that has been peeled and deveined. I grate 2 teaspoons of fresh ginger on top. Toward the end of cooking, I add in ½ cup of chopped basil and ¼ cup of chopped fresh mint leaves. Information About healthy and delicious food will be provided in the manual guide of the products. Tofu stir fry

Sometimes when I make tofu stir fry, I use the same recipe as the beef or chicken stir-fry recipe. However, other times, I’m in the mood for a peanut tofu dish. To make tofu peanut stir fry, I use 1 package of firm tofu that has been drained and cubed. I sauté the tofu in olive oil before setting the cubes aside. Next, I cook a variety of sliced vegetables such as peppers, broccoli florets, cabbage and onions. I season with salt and pepper as well as ½ teaspoon of minced ginger. Finally, I stir in ½ cup of peanut sauce, heating the tofu and vegetables together. I sprinkle chopped peanuts on top before serving.

Stir-fry meals are filling enough to satisfy during the winter months, yet healthy enough to appeal to me during the summer months. I love serving my stir-fry meals with steamed Jasmine rice.
